If I am accepted in the ASN Traditional Track program in the fall of 2023 at one of the above campuses, when can I apply to the CHNw Nursing Scholars Program?
Representatives from Community Health Network will present the program at your Ivy Tech School on your registration day. You will be invited to apply to the CHNw Nursing Scholars Program at that time.

Will I automatically be chosen for the CHNw Nursing Scholars Program after I apply?
Community Health Network will be conducting interviews with applicants. The goal of the interview is to determine mutual benefits for both parties. We will be discussing Community’s mission, values and culture. As this program is sponsored to help fill our most critical nursing jobs we will prioritize applicants who are willing to be flexible and pursue many different areas of nursing.

What does the CHNw Nursing Scholars Program offer me?

  • Financial Support:
    • Scholarships to cover 100% of tuition after financial aid has been applied.
    • Funding to cover select course materials and clinical resources available through the Ivy Tech bookstore.
    • Personal financial stipend provided upon successful completion of first semester and employee hire and onboarding with CHNw as a senior patient care tech.
  • Exceptional Clinical Experiences: Acute clinical experiences completed at Community hospitals.
  • Transition to Practice: Enhanced orientation, and because you graduate with experience, you move to the front of the line for job opportunities in high-demand areas.

Will I be required to work at Community Health Network while in nursing school?
Yes, a paid senior patient care technician role starts the first school break after one semester of clinicals is completed. The work commitment is 24 hours in a six-week period. You will be able to choose your working days and shifts. This position is non-benefitted and offers a competitive rate of pay.

Will I have a work commitment to Community Health Network after graduating from nursing school?
Yes, a three-year work commitment working as a full time registered nurse is required. If a part-time job is obtained (must be at least a 0.6 FTE) the work commitment is five years.

Am I able to opt out at any time, and what would that mean to me financially? What happens if I do not complete my ASN?
As part of the CHNw Nursing Scholars program, you will enter into an agreement with Community Health Network for your scholarship, stipend, clinicals and employment. Any breach in the agreement will result in dollars owed on your behalf to Community Health Network.
