Community Health Network welcomes New Year’s babies at hospitals

For release on January 03, 2023

Indianapolis—It’s one of Community Health Network’s many great traditions - celebrating the New Year’s baby at each hospital in the Network. This year, it looks like we had the first New Year’s baby born in Indianapolis.

The first New Year’s baby arrived at Community Hospital East at 12:13 a.m. through an emergency c-section. Baby boy, Ny’Jore Amir Kincade (pictured below), is the first for mom, Destiny Kincade of Indianapolis, and a rainbow baby. She calls him her “miracle” after losing babies in the past. Ny’Jore weighed in at 5lbs, 11oz and a little over 18 inches long. He’s getting great care in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and doing well.

The next baby was born at Community Hospital North at 12:25 a.m. Granger Ray Stancombe weighed 6lbs, 15oz and is 19.5 inches long. His parents, Stephanie and Nick Stancombe of Carmel, are overjoyed about his arrival. His birth comes after the loss of Granger's big sister, Gwendolyn Rae (pictured below on right). She passed away in October 2021 from a rare genetic disorder at just 13 months old. While they still feel the pain of this loss, the couple is celebrating the birth of their healthy boy.

Her parents, Erin and Aaron Ray of Greenwood are excited to have Natalie join the family. Dr. Erin Ray is a gerontologist at Community Health Network.

A New Year’s baby was also born at Community Hospital Anderson. However, the family chose to celebrate their baby’s birth privately.

The first New Year’s babies born at each of our hospitals were presented with a gift basket created by our Jasmine Gift Shops. We’re grateful that the families chose Community Health Network for this life-changing event. The Network had a total of 16 babies born on New Year’s Day (including a set of twins!).
