Our cancer team includes medical oncologists, a radiation oncologist, specialty nurses and others who are experts in delivering chemotherapy, infusion, and radiation therapy services. Together, they are all part of your cancer care team.
Navigators: With you from the start
Community Cancer Center Anderson strives to help every patient navigate the cancer journey. It starts when you meet your navigator. She is with you from the beginning, making sure all your questions are answered and you get all the information you need to make informed choices about your treatment plan.
In Anderson, we treat all cancer types, but see more cases of lung, breast, prostate, colorectal, and head and neck cancers. The oncologists and staff work closely on a daily basis to deliver personalized cancer treatments and coordinate care with the surgeons and your primary care physician. Some patients travel to us from across the state to receive specialized treatment for prostate and breast cancer.
Breast Cancer Radiation Therapy
Community Cancer Center Anderson is a center of excellence for the SAVI® radiation treatment for breast cancer. Partial breast radiation with SAVI is a five-day treatment plan that follows surgical removal of the tumor. The SAVI system uses a multiple catheters design allowing for the precise delivery of radiation. This enables physicians to optimally spare normal tissues, which can improve outcomes and increase the number of women who may be eligible for breast conservation therapy.

Prostate Cancer Radiation Therapy
Calypso® 4D Localization System™ focuses the delivery of external beam radiation treatment for prostate cancer with a higher degree of targeted precision. Calypso is known as the GPS for the Body®, giving our radiation therapy team the ability to continuously track the movement of the prostate in real time and target the cancer cells but avoiding nearby healthy tissues.
Other Radiation Treatment Options
External beam radiation therapy aims high-energy rays at the cancer and the immediate surrounding areas to destroy the main tumor and any nearby cancer cells.
Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is a type of 3-dimensional radiation therapy in which beams of radiation of different intensities are aimed at the tumor from many angles. This treatment reduces the damage to healthy tissue near the tumor.
Image-guided radiation therapy is an advanced imaging technology allows for precise treatment delivery through its capability to accurately focus the radiation on the target, making the radiation therapy more accurate, causing less damage to the surrounding healthy tissue.
