Katie joined the Community Health Network team as a breast cancer nurse navigator in 2022. She is a registered nurse and is oncology certified (OCN) through the Oncology Nursing Society.
Katie graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2009. She worked in her hometown of Evansville, IN as an inpatient medical/surgical/trauma nurse for a few years before beginning her adventure as a travel nurse. Katie has worked in different hospitals in Connecticut, Massachusetts, California, and Alaska as a travel nurse. After several years as a travel nurse, she decided she wanted to live closer to home. Her experience as a travel nurse also allowed her to realize her love of oncology patients. This brought her to Indianapolis, and Katie worked at Simon Cancer Center inpatient with oncology, hematology, stem cell transplant and hospice patients.
Katie lives in Indianapolis with her husband, two sons, St. Bernard dog and cat. She loves to travel, go on hikes, do yoga and run, but mostly spend time with her family and friends.
