Knowing when to seek medical attention for a wound is key to treatment. Several diseases lead to chronic wounds that are hard to heal, and without quick treatment can be difficult to treat, or can even lead to amputation. The Advanced Wound Center at Community Hospital East is dedicated to the treatment and prevention of wounds, both acute and chronic, using the latest technology and techniques.
Advanced Wound Center East named a Center for Distinction
To receive the award, a Wound Center must achieve outstanding clinical outcomes for 12 consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92%, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 92% within 28 median days to heal. The award is from Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.
Advanced Wound Center East was named an Advanced Center of Distinction in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2021. It was a Center of the Year from Healogics in 2017 and 2018 and honored with President’s Circle awards in 2017, 2018 and 2020.
At Community Hospital East, we offer a comprehensive program of specialized management by clinicians trained in wound care, including treatments such as transcutaneous oxygen measurement, dressing changes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, wound debridement and skin grafts. Other services include referrals such as home health, nutrition and diabetic education.

Our office coordinator will call the patient directly to schedule an appointment. The center only treats wounds, so your patient will continue to consult you for routine medical care. We will provide you with dictation and treatment and progress reports.
