Knowing when to seek medical attention for a wound is key to treatment. Several diseases lead to chronic wounds that are hard to heal, and without quick treatment can be difficult to treat, or can even lead to amputation. The Advanced Wound Center at Community Hospital East is dedicated to the treatment and prevention of wounds, both acute and chronic, using the latest technology and techniques.
Advanced Wound Center East awarded Center of the Year and Center for Distinction
To qualify for Center of the Year, stringent quality measures must be met such as clinical healing outcomes, median days to heal and excellent patient satisfaction rates. Community’s Advanced Wound Care Center East achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal. The award came from Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.
At Community Hospital East, we offer a comprehensive program of specialized management by clinicians trained in wound care, including treatments such as transcutaneous oxygen measurement, dressing changes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, wound debridement and skin grafts. Other services include referrals such as home health, nutrition and diabetic education.
