Travel Medicine Services

Providing exceptional care calls for constantly looking for ways to improve what we do, which is why we are excited to expand travel medicine services as well as introduce immigrant and refugee primary care to the southside of Indianapolis.

What Is Travel Medicine?

Travel Medicine is a specialty offered at Community Health Network. It promotes wellness in those traveling abroad.

Services include providing vaccinations and medications to help prevent the contraction of certain illnesses as well as counseling. The guidance counseling is used to educate traveling patients so they can remain healthy and happy on their trips around the world.

Our physicians — who specialize in travel medicine — are certified to administer vaccines for:

  • Yellow fever
  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A and B
  • Rabies
  • Japanese encephalitis
  • Meningitis
  • Polio
  • Measles

Patients can also receive post-travel care if they contract certain diseases during their trip.

Culturally Competent Primary Care

When Community says “exceptional care for all,” we mean all. So, it’s important to us to provide primary care to refugees and those immigrating to the U.S.

Dr. Henein works closely with the two local refugee resettlement agencies, as well as the Marion County Health Department, to provide a primary care home and coordinate care for our newest Hoosiers.

With an in-person interpreter who speaks Hakha Chin and video interpretation software available in every language, we are able to provide care without language barriers.

As a child of Egyptian immigrants, Dr. Henein has first-hand experience with dual-culturalism in the home and understanding the obstacles of moving to a new country. This is why he likes to “meet people where they are at” by providing the most inclusive, most comfortable and safest primary care possible.

With both the necessary passion and credentials, Dr. Henein is ready to provide his patients with exceptional care.
