Dr Powless took took quite a bit of time to listen and speak to me so I felt completely heard. She did not rush the appointment and came up with an action plan that she explained so I fully understood. Her plan is expedient and doesn’t kick the issue down the road. That is a great relief and appreciated.

I’m a first time mother and choosing an ON/GYN was the hardest thing when i found out I was pregnant. The first appointment I had with her I had so many questions and she took the time (everytime) to answer all my questions. She gets straight to the point and makes sure you are as comfortable in your pregnancy as possible. She’s a fast talker which is amazing (I don’t like being at dr appointments for long times) so it was nice to have a dr who could answer and ease my mind while getting straight to the point. She’s by far the best OB/GYN I have ever been to before.

Dr Powless is one of the best providers in the Community Health Network in Howard county! She is a very vibrant individual and beyond competent in her field of practice!

She is super efficient and makes everything easy to understand, whenever theres a concern she always addresses it in a timely fashion and insures you are taken care of to her best ability.

I think it would have been more appropriate to talk about things relevant to the appointment. She was looking through medications Rx from previous Drs I was seeing, and the medications had little to do with my urinary health, but they had more to do with mental health which was embarrassing. She also talked the most and barely gave her patient room to talk and ask questions. I also had to call the office a couple of days later to remind Dr Powless to send my medication to the pharmacy.

She explained everything in clear language to me. We discussed some options and she did not push me in any particular direction but just explained what the different options were. I felt like she truly cared about me and wanted me to have the best care possible.

She was very informative and made me feel comfortable the whole time. She’s really nice.

I went to her to be checked for STDs because my ex-husband cheated on me while we were still married. She was very kind and understanding, as was her nurse. When I said I wondered why I married him, she reminded me that I wouldn’t have had my kids. That meant a lot to me that she helped me to focus on them, not him.

She was not a bad provider. I'm not really sure how to rate it due to my experience. It was also my first time meeting her and I just feel like that due to my explanation prior about my experience made it extremely difficult to give her a fair rating. I don't feel like it's her fault, I feel that it's lack of training and understanding. A lot of obgys don't have experience in dealing with patients that have trauma. I can't blame her for that.
