The Next Evolution of Community Hospital South

February 28, 2008—In response to growing demand for medical services in southern Marion county and Johnson county, Community Health Network is launching a $130 million expansion of Community Hospital South. Designed by patients, physicians, and nurses, the project will include a new, five-story patient tower; an expansion of the hospital’s surgical services; renovation of all existing units to private rooms; an expanded lobby; additional parking; and convenient, expanded outpatient services.

This major expansion follows the 2007 openings of Community South’s new emergency department and the renovation of the Indiana Surgery Center South. “Both of these recent projects resulted in positive reviews by our patients and families, increased business and a clearly stated expectation that we continue the transformation of the rest of the facility,” said Mike Blanchet, president of Community Hospital South. “This project will allow us to continue to meet the growing needs and ever changing expectations of patients and families in the areas around Greenwood and the south side of Indy.” Full story >>
