A minimum of two years coding experience and CPC or CCS certification is required to take this course.
A Certified Risk Adjustment Coder has proven by examination and experience that they know how to read a medical chart and assign the correct diagnosis (ICD-10-CM) codes for a variety of clinical cases and services for risk adjustment models. Please Note: The CRC is a core credential and as such, does not require the credential of CPC to prepare for and sit for the CRC examination.
Have you been wanting to learn more about Hierarchical Category Coding (HCC) or gain more knowledge of Risk Adjustment? Or have you considered becoming a Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) through the AAPC? If so, this 2-day Boot Camp is for you! You will learn how to code for HCC and Risk Adjustment. The course is also a wonderful review for anyone planning to sit for the CRC certification exam.
Note: This course is recommended for Certified Professional Coders (CPC) or those with a least two years of diagnostic coding experience.
The CPC Preparatory Course is designed for professional billers and coders seeking certification by the AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders). VHG is recognized as an official site for providing the CPC preparatory course and exam. After passing the CPC certification examination those who have not yet gained 2 years work experience will be recognized as CPC-A (Apprentice). When completing a PMCC course of at least 80 hours, one year of the two year work requirement will be waived. A medical terminology, anatomy and physiology course is also recommended.
