Courses include Professional Medical Coding Curriculum Preparatory Course for medical coding and billing, Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) Preparatory Course, E/M Auditing Boot Camp, Healthcare Insurance 101, ICD-10-CM education, as well as customized courses for a variety of audiences.

Upcoming Courses - Now Registering!
2020 courses now open for registration include Professional Medical Coder (CPC) Certification Preparatory Courses and Certified Risk Coder (CRC) 2-Day Seminar. Each is offered twice in 2020. If you need to brush up on ICD-10-CM udpates for 2020, register for the session we will hold before the end of 2019.
The Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) is geared toward learning the proficiency required to correctly code CPT®, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM for medical procedures performed by the Provider. After passing the AAPC certification exam, students with at least two years of previous work experience in the field will be recognized as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC). Those who have not yet gained this experience will be recognized as a Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A). Upon completion of the 80+ hour PMCC course and after one year experience has been obtained, the apprentice status will be removed by the AAPC. This is not an introductory class.

Have you been wanting to learn more about Hierarchical Category Coding (HCC) or gain more knowledge of Risk Adjustment? Or have you considered becoming a Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) through the AAPC? If so, this 2-day seminar is for you! You will learn how to code for HCC and Risk Adjustment. The course is also a wonderful review for anyone planning to sit for the CRC certification exam.
Note: This course is recommended for Certified Professional Coders (CPC) or those with a least two years of diagnostic coding experience.

This program provides an update to the new, revised and deleted ICD10CM updates FY 2020, effective October 1, 2019. The CPT, HCPCS and CMS updates FY 2020 are effective January 1, 2020. An overview of the updated Official Diagnosis Coding Guidelines is also included.
This 14 week course, designed for the experienced coder, provides training for the multifaceted components of medical auditing. The CPMA course covers medical record standards and documentation guidelines, coding and documentation compliance, coding and reimbursement concepts, audit scope and statistical sampling methods, medical record audit abstraction, and category risk analysis and communication. A minimum of two years coding experience and CPC or CCS certification is required to take this course.
A Certified Risk Adjustment Coder has proven by examination and experience that they know how to read a medical chart and assign the correct diagnosis (ICD-10-CM) codes for a variety of clinical cases and services for risk adjustment models. Please Note: The CRC is a core credential and as such, does not require the credential of CPC to prepare for and sit for the CRC examination.

- Preparation for the CPB Certification exam
The curriculum is an overview that will require use of the following books and will also be used when taking the CPB exam: AMA CPT Professional Edition 2019; 2019 Expert HCPCS Level II; 2019 Expert ICD-10-CM for Physicians. The books are ordered for each student and are included in the class fees. If you would like to provide your own books, please contact us with those details and we will adjust your fees accordingly.

Healthcare Insurance 101
Healthcare Insurance 101 is perfect for someone new in the office or new to healthcare insurance. This is an introductory course that covers the basics of understanding health insurance and a guide to billing and reimbursement. This course includes common insurance terms, different types of insurance including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers. Attendees will learn the basics of processing an insurance claim, legal and regulatory issues, CMS reimbursement methodologies, essential CMS-1500 claim instructions, and basic CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding.
Educational sessions are customized to fit your practice needs. These session can be for your front and back office staff or physician and practitioner and can be one-on-one or group settings.
