Choose a Hospital for Your Delivery

Of all the choices you’ll be making over the next nine months or so, this will be one of the easiest. No matter which Community hospital you choose for delivery, you’ll find support, personal attention and lots of options—so you can experience pregnancy and birth the way you want. Each hospital and maternity unit offers a slightly different personality, so you can pick the one that fits your lifestyle and is most convenient for you.

INspire Hospitals of Distinction

INSpire logoDecember 2023 - Community Hospitals Anderson, East, North and South and Community Howard were recently honored with the INspire Hospital of Distinction for excellence in infant and maternal health by the Indiana Hospital Association.

This recognition is based on the implementation of best practices in six key areas: infant safe sleep, breastfeeding, tobacco prevention and cessation, perinatal substance use, obstetric hemorrhage, and maternal hypertension.

Maternity Guest Suites

Community Health Network pioneered the concept of staying in one suite during the entire stay—one room for labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum—for the birth of a baby instead of giving birth in one room and then moving to another room.

Mothers and families tell us they love never having to move from their large, comfortable rooms. They love not having to pack up once the baby is born to move to a smaller “hospital” room. They love a complete birthing experience shared with the same nursing staff who know them. We set the standard with the nation’s largest collection of single room maternity guest suites.

New Generations Birth Place at Community Hospital Anderson delivers approximately 70 percent of the babies born in Madison County.

New Generations Birth Place is ranked in the top one percent of all hospitals in the nation. The Maternity Practices in Infant Nutrition and Care (mPINC) national survey is administered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to all hospitals to gauge their use of evidence-based practices that have been shown to help facilities meet the national quality of care standards for perinatal care. In this survey, Community Anderson earned a perfect score of 100, while the average score in Indiana is a 76, and the national survey average of all hospitals across the nation is 75.

Since 2005, Community Anderson has maintained the prestigious Baby-Friendly™ designation, an honor from the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF. This means that we maintain evidence based practices for our breastfeeding moms to help ensure their success. Our staff aims to provide family focused care, meaning we have eliminated unnecessary separation, so you and your baby can have special time together. This will allow you to learn the unique needs of your new baby. During your stay, our goal is to teach you and your family about postpartum and infant care.
