Community is proud to be the official sports medicine provider to the Indy Fuel professional hockey franchise. Community Sports Medicine physicians and athletic trainers provide medical support during the Indy Fuel’s games at the Fairgrounds Coliseum.
Community’s sports medicine team helps keep Indy Fuel players in peak performance through a training program that includes fitness, conditioning, strengthening and nutrition services. The team physician and certified athletic trainer help the players recover from sports-related injuries and perform at their best from the moment the puck drops.
Dave Buchholz, LAT, ATCDave has been the certified athletic trainer for the Indy Fuel since 2021. Prior to this role, he was an athletic trainer at schools including Center Grove High School and Cowan High School (Muncie, IN). Dave has also worked in other clinical settings, including Central Indiana Orthopedics (Muncie, IN) and Red River Valley Sports Medicine Institute (Fargo, ND). He has a bachelor degree in health education from Minnesota State University - Moorhead and served as a graduate teaching assistant at University of North Dakota.
Dr. Kluetz is a board-certified family and fellowship trained sports medicine physician. He is the team physician for the Indy Fuel professional hockey team and serves as team physician for partner schools. More about Dr. Kluetz >>
Community provides athletic trainer and/or physician sports medicine coverage, health education information, health screenings and access to healthcare for several local schools and sports organizations.
