Neuro Specialty Program

The Neuro Specialty Program provides outpatient treatment for adults with acquired neurological disorders, including, but not limited to, traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumors, encephalitis, hypoxia, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease. The overall goal of outpatient treatment is to promote successful return to meaningful activity, whether that is independence in the home and in the community, success on the job, and/or return to a productive lifestyle.

Treatment Options

Treatment in our program involves traditional outpatient therapies, with individual treatment by physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists.

All treatment in the program is evidence-based - based on recommendations derived from the scientific research, outlining which approaches to cognitive rehabilitation are effective and which are not.

In addition to individual treatment with physical, occupational and speech therapy, our clinic provides specialized training and evaluations including:

  • Bioness electrical stimulation treatments for foot drop and hand weakness caused by brain impairment.
  • Wheelchair evaluations for manual chairs, regular power chairs, and complex rehab power chairs.
  • Spinal cord treatment for complete or partial cord injuries, wheelchair training for community mobility.
