Genetic Counseling for Infertility
Genetic counseling is a communication process that provides information and support to individuals and families who are concerned about a genetic condition or birth defect in themselves or a family member.
Couples with infertility may find themselves in need of genetic counseling if they have had three or more miscarriages, male partner has decreased or absent sperm in his semen, or congenital absence of the vas deferens. Genetic counseling is also recommended for any couple undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection.
