Dan

Dan and his wife, Beth, had only been married six years when Dan was diagnosed with stage II rectal cancer. Dan had a tumor that needed to be addressed in a step-wise manner with a combination of surgeons and/or medical and radiation specialists. With the help of MD Anderson Cancer Network specialists, Dan received a treatment plan and had surgery at Community Hospital North.

Everybody was there to help, to provide care to the whole family, not just the person. The Community cancer navigator helped them with all the terms they didn't understand, the appointments, different doctors and tests. It was so helpful to know the navigator was there looking over their shoulder.

After the surgery, the pathology report came back zero. Dan did not have any cancer left in the final specimen. Community's team gave Dan the chance to be around for years to come for his wife, kids and grandkids.
