Bente Weitekamp

Vice President of Development, Community Health Network Foundation

Bente became Community Health Network Foundation’s vice president of development in January 2012. She is responsible for leading fundraising strategies that allow donors to support Community Health Network’s mission to enhance Central Indiana’s health and well-being.

She was raised in Michigan in a home that fostered giving back to help others. Supported by parents who were active at church and in the local school system, Bente was encouraged to create positive and lasting change in the world. In fact, the spare change she collected as a child for the “Keep the Torch Lit” campaign was the beginning of her journey to help others accomplish meaningful change through their own giving.

She has spent more than 15 years working in the nonprofit sector. Prior to her appointment at Community, she worked at Purdue University for seven years, serving as director of advancement for the College of Science. Previously, Bente held fundraising roles at Alpha Sigma Alpha Foundation and Alpha Chi Omega women’s fraternity.

Bente is an active member of St. Monica Catholic Church and currently serves as a board member for Ball State University’s Cardinal Fund. She has also lent her time to many nonprofits including Circle of Sisterhood Foundation, Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, Lafayette Urban Ministry and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

A graduate of Ball State University, Bente also earned a master of arts in philanthropic studies from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. She and her husband, Jeff, have one daughter.
