Community Health Network names vice president and COO of its East Region

Indianapolis, IN---Community Health Network has named Ron Lewis vice president and chief operations officer of the network’s East Region. Lewis has more than 20 years of health care experience and has worked at the network since August 2013 in executive leadership roles. He reports to East Region President Scott Teffeteller and officially assumed his new role on May 11.

"Ron's experience and focus on operations will help ensure that the new Community East will be built on time and with no disruption of patient services," said Teffeteller. "We are honored to have him on our team, as we continue to focus on providing exceptional patient care."

In his new role, Lewis will be responsible for providing strategic growth planning, execution and operational leadership to designated product lines and patient services in the East Region. Previously at Community, he served as vice president of the neuroscience product line, where he worked with physicians and staff to develop a network strategic plan. In 2014, he became interim president and CEO of Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. Prior to working at Community Health Network, Lewis served as president and healthcare consultant for MDL Enterprises, Inc., in Fishers, IN, and as administrative director of Indiana University Health Saxony Hospital.

A graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial/ organizational psychology, Lewis went on to complete his master’s degree in clinical social work from Western Michigan University, as well as a master’s in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, FACHE.

Lewis was appointed by former Governor Mitch Daniels to serve on the Indiana Stroke Prevention Task Force from 2009-2012. He is a former president of the Indiana Hospital Association’s Acute Rehabilitation Hospital Committee and served on the VHA Indiana Health Industry Forum. Lewis is active in the local community and most recently served as volunteer basketball coach and mentor for the Fishers YMCA. Previously, he was involved with Leadership Bloomington, a community leadership program sponsored by Indiana University and the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce.
