Indianapolis, IN---Community Health Network has named Ron Thieme, Ph.D., as its new chief knowledge & information officer. Thieme most recently served as president and CEO of AIT Laboratories in Indianapolis and also was a sitting member of the Community Health Network Board of Directors. He began his new role on January 27.

Ron brings a very unique set of skills and experiences and a strong passion for healthcare delivery,” said Bryan Mills, president and CEO of Community Health Network. “His leadership will be transformational in maximizing our investment in technology, process, and intellectual capital to create a truly knowledge-based organization. This will enable our network to continually enhance both the care delivered to the patient and the value provided to our customers."

The chief knowledge and information officer (CKIO) is responsible for Community Health Network’s knowledge management activities, which encompass the enterprise strategy planning process and infrastructure; Community CareConnect, the network's fully-integrated health record and care delivery initiative; and all enterprise-level information technology platforms.  In this role, Thieme will work with Community's executive team to accelerate the network's efforts to improve the patient experience and enhance business strategies that fulfill its mission to its patients, their families and the community.  He will develop a long-term strategic vision for knowledge management that transforms Community into a knowledge-based organization that provides exceptional patient care and makes it easier to access and navigate.
