Protecting our patients is top priority with flu season in full swing

Indianapolis—Starting Friday, December 20, 2019, temporary visitor restrictions will take effect at all Community Health Network hospitals in Central Indiana. This includes Community Hospital North, Community Hospital East, Community Hospital South, and Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo, and Community Hospital Anderson.

The CDC flu map shows flu activity is now widespread in Indiana.

Community is working closely with the Marion County Health Department; and joins other Indianapolis hospitals in implementing Tier One of the Patient Visitation Policy. Here are the restrictions that will go into effect at all our hospitals:

  • No visitors with flu-like illness, fever, or cough
  • No visitors under age 18
  • Only immediate family or partner will be allowed to see patient

These restrictions are part of an effort to keep our hospital environment as healthy as possible for our patients.
