Fairbanks to join Community Health Network, providing patients more comprehensive addiction, behavioral health services

For release on November 14, 2019

Indianapolis—One of the most recognized names in substance-use programs in Indiana will become part of the state’s most comprehensive behavioral health system, when Fairbanks joins Community Health Network.

For patients that means a more comprehensive approach to addiction and behavioral health services, including treatment for serious mental illness and a psychiatric intensive care unit (ICU). Patients will also have access to an expansive primary-care system and network of specialists which will improve coordination of care across all disciplines.

"Our mission is to inspire hope and transform lives as the experts in addiction, focused on recovery,” said Barbara Elliott, Fairbanks President and CEO. ”Being able to provide additional behavioral health services that are inevitably part of the disease of addiction furthers our ability to inspire hope in more people and transform lives in even more meaningful ways".

"Just like Community, Fairbanks recognizes that its caregivers are the heart of its success, and we’re privileged to welcome their compassion and expertise into our family and our caregiver experience," said Jason Fahrlander, Chief Operating Officer for Community Health Network.

The integration will be completed by Dec. 31, 2019.

Earlier this year, Community opened a new inpatient and psychiatric unit and launched the Behavioral Health Academy.
