For release on March 27, 2018

Indianapolis—Community Health Network announced the Advanced Wound Care Center East was awarded Center of the Year, and Center for Distinction by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.

The Healogics network is made up of nearly 700 wound care centers in seven regions. Community was the recipient of the Center of the Year award for the south-central region. In order to qualify for Center of the Year, stringent quality measures must be met such as clinical healing outcomes, median days to heal and excellent patient satisfaction rates.

Community’s Advanced Wound Care Center East achieved outstanding clinical outcomes for twelve consecutive months, including patient satisfaction higher than 92 percent, and a minimum wound healing rate of at least 91 percent within 30 median days to heal, earning it the Center for Distinction award. There were 635 Centers eligible for the Center of Distinction award, but only 427 achieved the honor.

“We are so proud of this team and their innovative and caring approach to patient care,” said Vice President of Patient Care Services Paige Dooley. “Community is committed to its patients, and providing exceptional wound care can be life-changing for the patients we serve.”

Community Advanced Wound Care Center East is a member of the Healogics network and provides access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating about 2.5 million chronic wounds. Community offers highly specialized would care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Advanced treatments include negative pressure would therapy, bio-engineered skin substitutes, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, biological and biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies.
