The Giving Gig 2018 featuring Earth, Wind & Fire sells out

For release on August 31, 2017

Community Health Network Foundation event benefits cancer patients facing financial struggles

Indianapolis, IN--Community Health Network Foundation officials have announced that The Giving Gig® 2018, the non–profit’s annual fundraising event to support Community Health Network’s cancer patients facing financial difficulties, has sold out less than two weeks after ticket renewal opportunities opened to attendees of past Giving Gigs.

Individuals who attended the event in the past renewed their ticket purchases in record numbers, resulting in the sellout of tickets, tables and VIP couples packages. Members of the public interested in attending the event are encouraged to join the waiting list and will be contacted in the event tickets become available.

Held on February 17, 2018, at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott, The Giving Gig benefits Community Health Network’s Oncology Patient Assistance Fund, which provides $250 vouchers for food, gas and medication to cancer patients in financial need. All 1,036 guests in attendance will enjoy a cocktail reception and silent auction, a four-course gourmet dinner, a live auction and dancing during a performance by seventh top-selling musical group of all time Earth, Wind & Fire. The event’s VIP couple’s package includes complimentary valet parking, access to an exclusive after party, an overnight stay at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott and premium gifts donated by local and national retailers.

“The Giving Gig and the cause it supports continue to resonate with people across Central Indiana,” said Community Health Network Foundation President and CEO Joyce Irwin. “We are absolutely overwhelmed and thrilled by the generosity we have witnessed in recent days, all in order to help Community Health Network’s cancer patients fighting to overcome financial challenges. Time and again we have seen that when there is a need, Hoosiers respond. We are deeply grateful for the support garnered thus far, and we look forward to a fantastic event come February.”

In 2017, the event raised $1.7 million in support of the cause. Foundation officials anticipate funds raised at the 2018 event will meet the overarching $5 million goal set forth when the Oncology Patient Assistance Fund was established in 2014, creating a self-sustaining endowment that will forever help Community’s cancer patients.

As in 2017, The Giving Gig 2018 is presented by Alderson Commercial Group. Additional support for the event comes from Solo Creative, Day Furs and Luxury Outerwear, Windsor Jewelry and more than 40 other corporate donors.
