Indianapolis, IN---Community Health Network is pleased to announce that Ronald Strachan has been appointed chief information officer, effective April 25. He assumes the position left vacant by Ed Koschka, who retired last October.
In his new role, Strachan oversees approximately 150 employees. He is responsible for developing an enterprise-wide vision of technology, supporting the strategy and business needs of the network. He will also provide facilitative leadership for the design and implementation of plans supporting the information technology vision.
“Ron is a skilled executive, with more than 25 years of experience,” said Timothy Hobbs, M.D., chief physician executive at Community Health Network. “With his leadership skills and high standards of service, he will help lead our IT department as the network continues its transformation of care. He has the right skill set to work with clinicians and information technology experts to help us with the integration of our electronic health records (EHR) implementation.”
Strachan’s past career experience includes employment as vice president and chief information officer, vice president of information technology, and chief information officer at various healthcare organizations in Minnesota, Georgia, Ohio and Michigan. He received his master of science degree in administration from Central Michigan University and his bachelor of business administration degree from Davenport University in Dearborn, Michigan. He is a certified healthcare chief information officer.
Strachan is a member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and is currently serving on the McKesson CIO Advisory Group. He was named a Georgia CIO of the Year Finalist (non-profit sector) by the Georgia CIO Leadership Association.
