Community Health Network announces new leadership positions

Indianapolis, IN---Community Health Network announces the following leadership positions:

Sue Sandberg, MBA, RN, has accepted the role of chief operating officer for Community’s North Region. In this role, she will provide planning and development, execution, and strategic operational leadership in the North Region, including surgery, emergency services, oncology, neurosciences, outpatient services and all professional and ancillary support departments. Sandberg will be involved in establishing growth objectives, standards, targeted outcomes, and operational effectiveness. She has been with Community Health Network since 1998 and has served in senior leadership roles throughout her 16 years of network service.

Pamela Hunt, MSN, RN, has accepted the role of vice president of patient services and chief nurse executive for Community’s North Region. She will provide operational leadership, support, and execution for nursing and patient services. Hunt is responsible for developing clinical goals and objectives, as well as analyzing and evaluating nursing services to ensure continuous improvement in practice, outcomes, and utilization of resources. She will oversee clinical operations, in addition to patient safety, and operational effectiveness for Community Hospital North, Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, North Region ambulatory and outpatient locations and behavioral care. Hunt has served as vice president of patient care services and chief nurse executive at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital since April 2011.  Prior to joining the network, her career included senior leadership positions at Marion General Hospital and Community Howard Regional Hospital.

Steve Pearcy, director of human resources, will provide leadership and support to Community’s North Region in the areas of employee relations, performance management, recruitment, retention and policy compliance. In addition, he will continue to liaison with various network HR services, compensation, payroll, benefits, worksite care clinic services and organizational development and learning. Pearcy has been with the network for 24 years, serving in various human resources staff and leadership roles. For the past 8 years, he has served as director of human resources for Community Hospital North, and more recently, Community Heart and Vascular Hospital.

Regina Ward, MSN, RN, joins Community’s South Region serving as executive director for the South Region cancer center. She most recently served as vice president for oncology services at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center (UOMC). She was also administrative director for the bone marrow transplant and blood cancer program at UOMC. Ward’s experience in oncology nursing and leadership dates back to 1988. Since that time, she has held numerous clinical, research and teaching roles and served as clinical director of operations for six inpatient units at IU Health and University Hospital in Indianapolis.
