Westview Healthplex Sports Club undergoes name change to align with Community Health Network; Premier sports and fitness center becomes Community Healthplex Sports Club

For release on January 17, 2013

Indianapolis, IN---Westview Healthplex Sports Club has officially changed its name to Community Healthplex Sports Club, in a move to more closely align with Community Health Network. The premier sports and fitness center is part of the Community Westview Hospital’s campus, an affiliate of Community Health Network.

“Community Westview Hospital and Community Healthplex Sports Club work together to provide health and wellness programming for our members, patients, staff and the community,” said Jon Anderson, president and CEO of Community Westview Hospital and CEO and board chair of Community Healthplex Sports Club. “We believe that the Healthplex is symbolic of our osteopathic philosophy and mission—to improve the health and well-being of those we serve.”

Community Healthplex Sports Club is a comprehensive, medically-based health and fitness facility providing families of west central Indiana with a full continuum of care. Membership is available to individuals of any health and fitness level. The facility, which opened in 1998, offers amenities such as two swimming pools, indoor tennis courts, an indoor walking and running track, Pilates classes, Zumba classes, strength and cardiovascular training, as well as a spa, massage therapy, Courtside Café and child care services.

“We believe our new name still symbolizes our commitment to being a medically-based sports and fitness facility,” said Tom Campbell, executive director of Community Healthplex Sports Club. “But our commitment goes beyond just a name. It is our mission to improve the health and the life of those we serve.”

Westview Medical Campus, which includes Westview Hospital, its physician group and sports club, announced a formal affiliation with Community Health Network in June of 2011. The affiliation gave Community a hospital presence for the first time on Indianapolis’ west side, where the network aims to expand inpatient and outpatient services.
