Community Physician Network welcomes new pulmonologists; New physicians bring specialized to care to south side patients

Indianapolis, IN---Community Physician Network added two board-certified pulmonologists to serve patients on the south side of Indianapolis. Sultan Niazi, M.D., and Faheem Abbasi, M.D., provide care for patients with sleep, lung and respiratory tract issues. Their practice is based at Community Hospital South.

“We are very excited to be able to offer dedicated pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine care for our patients in southern Marion and Johnson counties,” said Ram Yeleti, M.D., president of Community Physician Network. “Drs. Niazi and Abbasi add to our full complement of highly specialized physicians providing comprehensive, coordinated care that our patients expect.”

Dr. Niazi is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine and critical care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He attended Rawalpindi Medical School in Pakistan and completed a general surgery internship at Rawalpindi General Hospital. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Texas Tech University Hospital in El Paso, Texas. He completed a fellowship in pulmonary, critical care, allergy, immunology and sleep medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, American Medical Association and Massachusetts Medical Society.

Dr. Abbasi is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine and critical care by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from Aga Khan University in Pakistan. He completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary critical care medicine at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.
