For release on March 12, 2013

Indianapolis, IN---A newhealthcare access point is available to west side residents, providing them with quality healthcare where they live, work and play. A ribbon-cutting for Community Health Network’s Community Westview Health Pavilion, a 40,000 square foot facility located in the heart of downtown Speedway, will be held today at 5:00 p.m. The pavilion was supported by the Speedway Redevelopment Commission, which wanted to improve the quality of life for residents, by securing a strong corporate partner to anchor the city. The pavilion, located at 1011 Main Street, offers primary care, imaging and infusion, as well as a multitude of other health services.

“One of Community Health Network’s strategic goals is to increase access to quality healthcare for all consumers in Central Indiana,” said Jon Fohrer, CEO of Community Health Network’s ambulatory services. “Expanding our geographical footprint in West Central Indiana allows us to connect new patients with Community’s expanding array of healthcare services. The new pavilion also reflects a $1.8 million investment in Speedway.”

The pavilion, with 24 exam rooms, is home to Speedway Family Physicians, Speedway Pediatrics, Community Imaging Center, and a family medicine residency training program for osteopathic residents from osteopathic schools across the U.S. and nearby Marian University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, a close partner in the training of family medicine residents. The facility allows for expanded opportunities in medical education. In addition to offering an array of healthcare services, Community MedCheck provides urgent care, as well as occupational health services for local residents and employers. A community room is dedicated to patient education and health-related events and will also be available to local businesses to accommodate meeting space. The health pavilion has an additional 8,000 square feet of space for expanding future services.

“Thanks to our affiliation with Community Health Network and the ongoing cooperation and support of the Speedway Redevelopment Commission and Town of Speedway, Community Westview Health Pavilion, like all of our health pavilions, will offer a variety of medical options, as well as an extended level of service, for the residents and businesses located in the Town of Speedway and neighboring communities,” said Jon P. Anderson, president and CEO of Community Westview Hospital. “Community Westview Health Pavilion represents a commitment by Community Health Network to provide convenient access to exceptional healthcare services, where and when patients need them.”
