Community Physician Network welcomes new providers

Indianapolis, IN--- Community Physician Network, the integrated, multi-specialty physician group at Community Health Network, welcomes the following providers:

Ahmed Abusamra, M.D., is a pediatric hospitalist with special expertise in newborn airway management and NICU care. He attended medical school at Al-Quds University School of Medicine in East Jerusalem, Palestine, and completed his pediatric residency at Hurley Medical Center at Michigan State University in Flint, Michigan. Dr. Abusamra practices at Community Hospital South, 1402 E. County Line Road, Indianapolis. 

Komal Ashraf, D.O., is a neurologist who attended Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, and completed her neurology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. She is providing hospitalcoverage at Community while completing her fellowship in neurophysiology (EEG/epilepsy) at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Ashraf sees patients at Community Hospital North, 7150 Clearvista Drive, Indianapolis, and Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, 8075 N. Shadeland Avenue, Indianapolis.  

E. Diana Burtea, M.D., is a family medicine physicianwho was raised in the suburbs of Chicago. She attended Northwestern University for both her undergraduate degree and medical studies as part of their honors program in medical education. Dr. Burtea completed her residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and practiced in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, for two years. She then joined the faculty at Community Health Network Family Medicine Residency in 2001, and served as program director from 2007 to 2013. She is excited to get back to full-time practice with Community Physician Network. Dr. Burtea enjoys the full spectrum of family medicine and has special interests in women’s health and management of chronic diseases. Her office is located at 11911 N. Meridian Street, Suite 120, Carmel.

Susan Helsel, M.D., is a family medicine physician who was born and raised in Greenwood, Indiana. She obtained her bachelor’s degree and medical degree at the University of South Carolina. She then completed a two years of a psychiatry residency at the University of Virginia and a family medicine residency at Community Health Network. Prior to joining Community Physician Network, she served as assistant director of the Community Family Medicine Residency program for 14 years, where she enjoyed both teaching and providing full-spectrum family medical care. Dr. Helsel’s office is located at 11911 N. Meridian Street, Suite 120, Carmel.

Vincent Keating, M.D., is an electrophysiologist who sees patients at Community Hospital East and Community Hospital South. He attended Notre Dame for his undergraduate studies and completed his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Arizona and his cardiology fellowship at Aurora Healthcare in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Keating’s offices are at 1402 E. County Line Road, Suite 2400, Indianapolis, and 1400 N. Ritter Avenue, Suite 500, Indianapolis.
