For release on May 17, 2012

Indianapolis, IN---Patients in two Madison County towns now have access to a new primary care provider. Shana Carmin, family nurse practitioner, is seeing patients at Alexandria Medical Arts, 2116 S. Park Avenue, Alexandria, and Summitville Medical Arts, 701 South Main Street, Summitville.

Carmin is an experienced nurse practitioner who is joining these teams of providers to help them expand their office hours and their availability for patients when it is more convenient for them. “We are happy to have Shana join our team as we work to expand our office hours and see more patients,” said Troy Abbott, M.D., family medicine physician at Alexandria Medical Arts. “As a nurse practitioner, Shana is able to diagnose and treat patients, write prescriptions and order tests.”

Carmin has experience in both family practice and hospital settings. She received a master of science degree in nursing at Indiana Wesleyan University and a bachelor of science degree in nursing at Anderson University. She sees patients of all ages and helps them with acute and chronic illnesses. She enjoys all aspects of family medicine from caring for children, to women’s health and older adults.

All providers at both locations are accepting new patients. For more information, including office hours, for Alexandria Medical Arts, visit www.alexandriamedicalarts.com or call 765-724-4455.
