Community Physician Network names president, board chair

Indianapolis, IN---The Community Physician Network Board of Directors announced two leadership appointments following its April 3 meeting. Ramarao Yeleti, M.D., was named president of Community Physician Network, and Ernest Asamoah, M.D., was named chair of the Community Physician Network board.

“Drs. Yeleti and Asamoah have been selected by their physician peers to lead the Community Physician Network in the transformation of care delivery,” said Bryan Mills, CEO of Community Health Network. “Their vision for a team-based, patient-friendly network connected via a single patient record is compelling and achievable. I’m very confident in their leadership and the resulting benefits to our patients.”

Dr. Yeleti provides leadership for the multi-specialty physician group of Community Health Network, which includes more than 500 primary care and specialty physicians in over 100 locations throughout Central Indiana. Most recently, he served as president of Community Heart and Vascular, the integrated cardiovascular group at Community Health Network, which is now part of Community Physician Network.

Dr. Yeleti has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Akron in Ohio, and a medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He served his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota, and served his fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at Indiana University Medical Center and the Indiana Heart Institute. Dr. Yeleti is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. Asamoah leads the 15-member Community Physician Network Board of Directors. He has provided diabetes and endocrinology specialty care at Community Health Network since 1999. Dr. Asamoah received his medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School and completed postgraduate training in general medicine in the UK. He completed a residency at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship at Brown University School of Medicine.
