For release on January 03, 2011

Indianapolis, IN---Community Health Network is pleased to announce that Robert J. Goulet, Jr., M.D., is joining its integrated and nationally accredited breast health center, Community Breast Care, effective January 3, 2011.

A board certified surgeon with 30 years of experience, Dr. Goulet is known nationally for his specialization in breast diseases and surgical oncology. Most recently, he practiced at the IU Simon Cancer Center, where he served as medical director of the Breast Care Center, and as professor of surgery with the IU Medical School.

In his new role with Community, Dr. Goulet will open a Community Breast Care location on Indianapolis’ east side. His office will be located in the professional building on the campus of Community Hospital East, where he’ll begin seeing patients in January.

“Dr. Goulet’s distinguished and highly successful career will be a huge asset to our program,” said S. Chace Lottich, M.D., medical director of Community Breast Care. “His strong research and academic background will bring a tremendous value to Community Breast Care—and his compassion with patients will help them through their cancer experience so they can get back to their lives.”

Dr. Goulet joins a team of experienced breast surgeons at Community Breast Care, who collaborate to provide comprehensive, compassionate and contemporary care to patients. In addition to the east side location, Community Breast Care physicians are also located in professional buildings on the Community Hospital North campus and on County Line Road in Greenwood.

“I am excited to join such an exceptional team of physicians,” said Dr. Goulet. “Community Breast Care, under the strong leadership of Dr. Chace Lottich and Dr. Tim Goedde, successfully combines the latest in medical and surgical technology, while ensuring each patient receives the most compassionate care available.”

Besides Drs. Goulet, Lottich and Goedde, Community Breast Care also includes three other fellowship-trained breast surgeons: Christina Kim, M.D., Nate Thepjatri, M.D., and Erin Zusan, M.D. Community Breast Care is the first and only comprehensive health network in the state of Indiana to be granted a three-year, full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). NAPBC-accredited breast care centers offer a multidisciplinary, team approach to treatment of breast disease, comprehensive care with state-of-the-art equipment, breast health navigators, information about clinical trials and new treatment options, and access to prevention and support services.
