Indianapolis, IN---Karen Waninger, director of clinical engineering at Community Health Network, was recently honored with the first annual TechNation Professional of the Year Award. “Karen is an outstanding leader in the biomedical industry, so it is only appropriate that she was chosen as the first recipient of this award,” said Mark Raker, vice president of general services at Community Health Network. “She has a tremendous passion for managing medical device repair service in the safest, most timely and cost-effective manner.”

Waninger is an active member of the Indiana Biomedical Society and currently is coordinator of the January 2012 annual conference. In addition, she is a member of the Technology Management Executive Council for the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI). She has served on numerous other boards and associations throughout her career.
