Visitor Guidelines

Community’s highest priority remains delivering quality care in the safest possible environment through the pandemic. Our visitation policies reflect the best evidence-based information available, and we’re confident in our safety protocols and our ability to keep patients, visitors and caregivers safe.

Visitor Registration

Visitor registration is required for guests who plan to visit acute care areas. Please be prepared to show photo ID at the registration desk when you arrive.

Visiting Hours

Hospital visiting hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Hours may vary for specific units or areas of care.

Parking and Valet

There is ample parking in front of Community Heart and Vascular Hospital, as well as in the visitor parking lots on all Community Health Network campuses.

We offer free valet parking Monday - Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Our valets do not accept tips. However, if you insist on giving us a monetary tip, it will be donated to the American Heart Association.

ATM

The ATM is located in the main lobby/first floor, next to the public elevators on the hospital side.

Wireless Internet

Community Heart and Vascular Hospital offers free wireless internet access to patients, families and visitors.

Cell Phones

Cell phones are allowed, except in patient treatment areas, where their signal could interfere with medical equipment in use.

Food and Beverage

Patients and their guests may order room service at any time from The Heartland Café. Choose from our cafeteria menu and call us at 1-8008. Your meal will be made to order and will be delivered to your room in 30 minutes or less. Guest trays are also available for a nominal fee. Purchase meal vouchers from the business office/registration office located in the main lobby on the first floor for $6.00.

Pastoral/Spiritual Care

William Hogsett ChapelThe William Hogsett Chapel, located in the gallery, is an interfaith chapel open for prayer, meditation and reflection 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Community Heart and Vascular Hospital's Chaplaincy Services department is committed to providing support services to patients, families and hospital staff, with respect to their own needs and traditions. Professionally trained and board certified chaplains are available on an individual basis to assist with pastoral/spiritual care and counseling needs. They also strive to connect individuals who desire pastoral care and other spiritual or religious interventions with their own faith leaders, rites and traditions.

An in-house chaplain is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Chaplains are on-call for emergencies at all other times, including on holidays. To contact Chaplaincy Services, call the hospital operator at 317-621-8000 and ask for a chaplain.

Volunteers

Ongoing volunteer opportunities are available at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital (CHVH), including positions in the medical units, along with clerical positions and customer service assistance for patients and visitors.
