Blue Distinction Center+
Blue Distinction Centers not only meet the same quality criteria as Blue Distinction Centers, but they also go a step further. Hospitals receiving a Blue Distinction Center designation are also measured on how efficiently they deliver this high-quality patient care. Community Bariatric Services - Hamilton is the only program in Indiana with the PLUS designation for gastric banding surgery.

MBSAQIP Accredited – Comprehensive Center
Community Bariatric Services - Hamilton is an accredited outpatient bariatric surgery center through the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). This prestigious designation recognizes surgical programs around the country that offer comprehensive pre-surgical and post-surgical commitment to bariatric patients and that have demonstrated a track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery. The program offers the only outpatient bariatric free-standing facility in the greater Indianapolis area.
LAP-BAND® Total Care™ Certification
Community Bariatric Services - Hamilton has achieved certification as a LAP-BAND Total Care™ program. Dr. McEwen's practice is one of only a handful in Indiana that is LAP-BAND TOTAL CARE™ certified. Certification is achieved through successful completion of a series of tests by bariatric staff members. This accomplishment indicates Community bariatric services' expertise and commitment to patient care.
LAP-BAND® System Faculty Member
Surgeons that are designated Lap-Band faculty members are considered to be extensively experienced surgeons and play a crucial role in the training and qualification of new surgeons. They are required to oversee the initial cases performed by new surgeons and verify the successful completion of the initial surgical cases. As a LAP-BAND System faculty member, Dr. Keith McEwen has demonstrated the highest level of patient management and technical ability.

Support groups for Hamilton bariatric patients are held the first Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at our office in suite 140. These meetings are for current LAP-BAND® patients only or patients interested in our surgical/non-surgical weight loss programs.
