Stay Safe this Flu Season: Saturday Drive-Thru Flu Vaccinations
This flu season, we all have quite a bit on our minds. It’s important to prioritize getting your flu shot for your health and well-being. COVID-19 and influenza are both contagious respiratory illnesses with similar symptoms, but you can protect yourself now from the flu by getting vaccinated.
We are excited to share that Community Health Network has created new drive-thru Saturday flu clinics. These convenient locations offer a quick way to receive flu prevention.
Convenient, Drive-Thru Saturday Flu Clinics
Your health and safety is our priority. To make the process as easy and as safe as possible, patients with an appointment can simply get their flu vaccination from the comfort of their own vehicle in our drive-thru format.
Appointments will be available on Saturday mornings at various locations throughout Central Indiana and Kokomo. Please note that appointment times and dates will vary by location.
How to Schedule a Drive-Thru Saturday Flu Vaccination
Each patient will need to have an appointment scheduled prior to arriving. Our team can help you schedule back-to-back appointments for you and each person in your vehicle.
- For Central Indiana, call 317-621-2727
- For Kokomo, call 765-776-5151
You can also schedule your Saturday Flu Clinic appointment through MyChart.
Before Your Appointment
A few days before your scheduled appointment, you will receive information on how to complete the pre-registration. Each patient must complete the pre-registration information before the appointment.
If you are feeling ill with cold- or flu-like symptoms, you should reschedule your appointment for when you are feeling well again. We cannot vaccinate patients with a fever of 100.4 or greater.
Here is what you should be mindful of before your appointment:
- Complete the pre-registration process.
- Bring your insurance card and ID.
- Everyone in the vehicle ages 2+ must wear a mask.
- Do not bring any pets.
- All children should wear clothing that allows access to both thighs and arms (i.e., shorts and a t-shirt). You can bring a blanket to keep your child warm.
- All adults should wear a shirt that allows access to the upper arm.
- Please remove any jackets or coats before entering the line.
- For children, we recommend that an adult is in the back seat with child if possible.
When You Arrive
When it’s time for your appointment, make sure you have your insurance card and ID ready. Everyone in the car ages 2+ should be wearing a mask. Follow the traffic flow arrows in the lot. Do not get out of your car while in line.
Once your vehicle is under the tent, make sure your car is in park and turn off the engine.
After your vaccination is complete, it is recommended that you remain at the location for 15 minutes and wait in your car. There will be a designated area for you to park. We will have a phone number for an on-site provider that you can call if you need medical assistance after your vaccination.
More Ways to Schedule
If the drive-thru clinics are not the right fit for you, please call your doctor’s office and ask about getting your flu shot in the office or if a weekday curbside appointment is available.
