Language Services

Community Health Network serves a diverse community of Limited English Proficiency (LEP) individuals. To assist patients, their family members, and other legally authorized persons, and in compliance with federal and state laws, medical interpreters are available at no cost to patients or their family members, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Spanish-speaking patients who need an interpreter to communicate with their provider may call any time.


Girl doing sign language on video callInterpreters work with clinicians and clinical specialties throughout network sites of care, providing all necessary interpreter services. Patients do not need to bring their own interpreter. Community Health Network is excited to offer these services for staff and patients to better serve the diverse needs of our community.

Available services include:

  • Language interpreters for non-English speakers (in-person on a case-by-case basis)
  • Video remote interpreter (VRI) services (spoken and ASL)
  • American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Spanish and Burmese (plus Hakha, Falam and Mitzo) interpreters on staff
  • Telephone-based interpreter services
  • Translations of written materials

Medical interpreters are highly skilled professionals with specialized training in interpreting skills, code of ethics, integrated medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, interpreting in mental health, information on healthcare systems, culture in interpreting, communication skills for advocacy, and professional development.
