Community Cupboard of Lawrence is a food pantry that serves Lawrence Township residents in need of assistance. Founded in 2014 by the Lawrence Township Trustee’s Office and operated since 2016 as an outreach of Community Health Network, Community Cupboard of Lawrence provides healthier food options for guests, and relieves the strain experienced by food pantries throughout Central Indiana.

Community Cupboard of Lawrence works with local food banks to source the majority of its product. In addition, food acquired through food drives and individual donations is critical to maintaining sufficient inventory. Community Cupboard of Lawrence welcomes both food and monetary donations to further its mission. To make a monetary gift, click the button below. Our Services

How often can I visit?
A family representative may visit twice a month to receive food or personal items. The amount of items is determined by inventory and size of the family.

Do I need to be a resident of Lawrence Township?
Yes. The boundaries for Lawrence Township are 96th St. to the North, 30th St. to the south, Carroll Road to the East, Emerson to the West.

What do I need to bring?
To receive food, clients must present a piece of mail, postmarked within the last two months, offering proof that they reside within Lawrence Township.

What do I receive?
Clients are offered a prepackaged order. Items will range from various canned goods to meat and fresh produce.

Community Cupboard of Lawrence depends on volunteers to make it a success. There are a variety of jobs that volunteers can choose from, listed below. To volunteer, please email cupboard@eCommunity.com.

Volunteer Jobs

  • Client intake - Input client information into computer database.
  • Meat and produce counter - Transfer meat, produce and other refrigerated products from the cooler/freezer to shopping areas.
  • Shopping area - Greet clients, assist in their shopping and restock shelves.
  • Check out - Bag and load groceries.
  • Cupboard prep - Unload, sort and restock on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
