Chief Executive Officer, Visionary Enterprises, Inc.

Kyle serves as chief executive officer (CEO) of Visionary Enterprises, Inc. (VEI). Kyle joined VEI in early 2008 as chief operating officer (COO). As COO, he was responsible for providing operational accountability and executive leadership for VEI, including the development of strategic plans that provided advancement of financial goals, as well as promoted solid partnerships with physicians and hospitals. Kyle has more than 20 years of experience in finance, new business development, strategic planning and organizational leadership.

Kyle has been involved with VEI for many years, through his service as a board member and chairman of the Investment Committee. Additionally, he has been a part of Community Health Network’s Audit Committee.

Prior to joining VEI, Kyle was executive vice president at Goelzer Investment Management where he was responsible for new business development and client services. He has also held several senior-level leadership positions in the banking industry. Kyle received his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Denison University and a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University.

Kyle is actively involved in the local community through Community Health Network’s community outreach initiatives and serves on the boards of The Heroes Foundation and St. Richard’s Episcopal School. He is a cancer survivor and is also involved with the Indianapolis Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Pete Turner, Vice President of InnovationPete Turner
Vice President of Innovation, Community Health Network

Pete serves as vice president of innovation for Community Health Network. Appointed to this role in May 2011, Turner is responsible for leading the development and implementation of Community’s strategic innovation initiative and leads daily operations of Community Launchpad.

Previously, Pete served as vice president of business development for Community’s Heart and Vascular division, where he led strategic growth and new product development for one of the country’s premier integrated cardiovascular groups. He joined Community in 2005 from High Point (NC) Regional Health System after successfully launching the brand of the region’s first freestanding heart hospital.

Prior to his transition into the healthcare industry, Turner served 10 years in the NASCAR business sector, culminating in the role of Business Manager for NASCAR champion and former Richard Petty Motorsports driver Steve Grissom. During his tenure, Turner managed motorsports marketing strategies for global corporations including McDonald’s, Pennzoil and Channellock. Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing, cum laude, from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Pete serves as a Presidential Council board member of Indiana Sports Corporation and Sg2’s Council for the Center for the Future in Chicago. He has moderated an Indianapolis town hall on healthcare reform and has presented nationally on strategic healthcare marketing. He is a team captain for the American Heart Association Start Heart Walk and volunteers as a youth basketball coach.

Braylon Hancock, MHA
Director, Community Launchpad

Braylon Hancock, Launchpad project managerBraylon is responsible for supporting the coordination and administration of innovation projects within Community Health Network, as well as assisting in the development of Community Launchpad’s growing commercialization portfolio.

Prior to joining the Community Launchpad team, Braylon provided direct clinical inpatient care on the Ortho/Neuro/Spine unit at Community Hospital North. He received a bachelor’s degree in health services administration from the Indiana University School of Medicine and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health.

Braylon served as an analyst on the Healthcare Finance Management Association’s Key Performance Indicator Committee and currently serves on the American College of Healthcare Executives' Regent’s Advisory Council. He supports local community activities through the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association, and Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Lauren Brandstatter
Project Manager, Community Launchpad

Lauren Brandstatter, Launchpad project managerAs project manager for Community Launchpad, Lauren is responsible for driving innovation projects from inkling to implementation, as well as supporting the administration of Launchpad’s growing innovation platform. 
 
Prior to joining the Launchpad team, Lauren served as an electronic medical record credentialed trainer, providing onboarding and coaching to end users across Community Health Network. She received her bachelor's degree in education studies from DePauw University and is certified in Lean 6 Sigma. Before making her transition to healthcare, Lauren worked as a K-2 remediation teacher and head soccer coach at Washington (IN) Community School Corporation, and as an assistant collegiate soccer coach at Millikin University.

Lauren is an active and devoted volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Special Olympics Chapter of Indiana. She was an adolescent mentor for Best Buddies of Indiana, and is a Humane Society supporter.

Larry N. Monn, Chief Medical OfficerLarry N. Monn, MD
Chief Medical Officer, VEI

Dr. Monn originally joined VEI as chief medical officer in 2007. His primary focus has been on patient safety, clinical quality, clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance and reporting results to external organizations and agencies.

Dr. Monn is a board-certified plastic surgeon and has practiced within Community Health Network since 1974. He served as chief of staff for the network from 1983 to 1986. In 1990, Dr. Monn founded, along with other physicians, Indiana Surgery Center North and has been the center’s board chairman since its inception. He also continues his independent plastic surgery practice concurrently with his role at VEI.

Dr. Monn received his bachelor degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed his residency in general and plastic surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.

Ann Nevins, Executive Director, Human Resources – VEIAnn Nevins

Ann Nevins has more than twenty-five years of experience in human resources service. Ann started her career with Community Health Network in 1986. She has served as executive director, human resources for VEI since 2008. She joined the VEI team in 1998 as a human resources consultant. Ann is responsible for daily HR operations and the development and execution of programs and processes that support and align with SGI/VEI goals and objectives. Prior to these roles, Ann’s experience included various HR positions: VEI human resources consulting manager, HR project specialist, HR nurse retention coordinator and HR recruiter.

Ann holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She is a founding/current member and past board member of the Indy SurviveOars, a breast cancer survivor dragon boat racing team and support group. She is also involved with the Humane Society of Indianapolis.

Karen C. Turner, General CounselKaren C. Turner
General Counsel, VEI

For more than 25 years Karen has been advising her clients on an array of corporate matters, including joint ventures, private placements and financing arrangements. Karen joined VEI in September 2004 as director of business development. In May 2005, Karen assumed the role of general counsel for VEI with responsibility for legal oversight of all VEI projects and relationships. Prior to joining VEI, Karen provided legal counsel both in private practice and as in-house general counsel to corporate clients across a variety of industries, including roles with ADESA Corporation, Reilly Industries and Gibraltar Mausoleum Corporation. Karen’s experience also includes serving as a mergers and acquisitions and corporate transactions attorney with the Ice Miller law firm.

Karen holds a bachelor of science degree from Indiana University and a J.D. from University of Michigan School of Law.

Bret A. Weitzel, Vice President, Chief Financial OfficerBret A. Weitzel

In 1989, Bret started his career as a staff accountant within VEI’s physician practice management division. He rapidly advanced to accounting supervisor, then to accounting manager. Since 1995, Bret has served in the capacity of vice president and chief financial officer for VEI. He is responsible for the financial reporting for the corporation and all limited liability companies (LLC) owned and managed by VEI. His activities include the coordination of the annual budgeting process, supervision of all banking relationships, materials management activities, financial statement preparation and analysis, tax return preparation, pension plan administration, and coordination of internal and external audits.

Bret holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Indiana University, a master of business administration degree from Butler University, and is a certified public accountant (CPA).
