Lee Vriesman

Director of Development, Community Health Network Foundation

Lee became Community Health Network Foundation’s Director of Development for the Grateful Patient and Family Program in March of 2018. In this role, she works with patients, physicians and caregivers to create avenues for donors to give, while raising financial support for Community Health Network Foundation’s philanthropic priorities.

With more than 25 years of fundraising experience, Lee has worked for healthcare, education and social service organizations around Indianapolis including The Damien Center, Children’s Bureau and Butler University. Most recently, she worked as the senior associate director of major gifts for Neuroscience at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Lee is a member of class 15 of the Stanley K. Lacy Leadership Series and the Washington Township Foundation Board. She served as Grand Masquerade chair for The Damien Center and is a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church.

Lee is a graduate of Ball State University, where she participated in student admissions and orientation programs, Panhellenic council and Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

Born in Indianapolis and raised in Fortville, Indiana, Lee credits her upbringing largely for her interest in nonprofit work. Her parents, both teachers, instilled in her the importance of giving back to the community through volunteer work. As athletic director at Mt.  Vernon High School, her father in particular taught her and her brother that all jobs are not 9:00-5:00, you do what needs to be done – even if that is mowing the baseball diamond – and your kids make good helpers for track meets!

Later in their lives, Lee’s parents each received exceptional care at Community Hospital North. Lee experienced firsthand the incredibly caring and thoughtful way that physicians, nurses and staff supported them during very difficult times.

Lee is the mother of two daughters. Emily is a graduate of Xavier University, is married and lives in Cincinnati, and Zoë is in Bloomington attending Indiana University. In her spare time, Lee enjoys gardening, cooking and going to the beach.
