The Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program Peer Mentor position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Job Duties

  • This is a staff level position with responsibilities key to the success of the InteCare Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program to ensure that Veterans and their families obtain and maintain permanent housing, as well as needed coordination and linkage to supportive services.
  • This position is vital to the successful engagement of all Veterans and their families “where they are” and assist with guiding and supporting them through the process.
  • Reach out and engage all veterans and their families and maintain engagement.
  • Participate in outreach activities to provide education about the program and to locate individuals who may be eligible for SSVF services.
  • Serve as advocate of veterans and their families.
  • Serve as a champion for program participants and their families when they are attempting to work towards critical goals or challenges.

Peer Mentors must be Veterans with anything other than dishonorable discharge.


  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • It is preferred that Peer Mentors have completed a State or VA Peer Mentor Certification Program.

  • Must have had crisis intervention training or complete within the first quarter of start date
  • Must have Valid Indiana Driver’s License
