Triage Registered Nurse (RN) - Palliative Care North

This position is located on the north side of Indianapolis (North Cancer Center).
The Triage Registered Nurse functions as a member of the Palliative Care Team. The Triage RN will be a coordinator for in-patient referrals, will determine priority of need, and will give direction to the Palliative Care Team across all regions for patient care needs. This will not be a direct patient care position.
Two years or more of nursing experience required. Experience with palliative care or hospice a plus. Scheduling, phone triage, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred.
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program, or three years related professional nursing experience.
Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Excellent communication skills; excellent team skills; compassionate and caring; accountable; self-directed. Able to prioritize medial emergency phone calls, explain lab/test results, and communicate effectively within the patients level of understanding.
