This position is located in Anderson.
Under the supervision of the Director of Integrated Service and the Materials Transporter Coordinator in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, provides transportation as requested for patients, patient related materials, and performs other activities requiring physical strength. While actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending upon assigned area, the following are characteristics of the nature and level of work being done by the transporter.
High school diploma or GED
- Physical ability to transport patients and items while tolerating prolonged standing, walking, bending, and heavy lifting.
- Personal flexibility and initiative to set priorities and adapt effectively to stressful situations, such as in workload, critical patient circumstances and frequent interruptions.
- Must have the ability to learn patient transfer techniques and CPR. Must be able to exercise independent judgment, have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the customer he/she serves.
