Job Location
The Materials Data Analyst position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

Job Duties
The Materials Database Analyst supports Purchasing-related technology solutions for both internal and external clients. They will support the department’s data analysis and reporting needs; however, an IT infrastructure knowledge is required in order perform other duties, such as performing mass data imports in the appropriate steps, ensuring data integrity and accuracy and helping with technical support and error correct. The Materials Database Analyst must also be able to serve as a project lead and represent the department as appropriate. Additionally, the data analyst must be able to make critical decisions related to their work that are in the best interest of the department and/or Network and to keep manager informed at all times of any known issues.

Experience Minimum of 3 years of data extraction, quality review, reporting, and database experience. Must have good analytical skills. High degree of proficiency with and MS Excel required. Familiarity with SQL and PeopleSoft a plus. Experience with supply chain management functions helpful.
Education
Associates Degree in computer technology or computer science and IT related experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

Skills
  • Knowledge of MS Excel, SQL Query for data extraction and reporting.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft database schema preferred.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and database maintenance.
  • Ability to extract system data and generate reports from database as required.
  • Able to perform regularly scheduled recurring production processes as well as one-time project specific ad-hoc requests.
  • Ability to adhere to department and network standard operating policies and procedures for maintaining system data. 
  • Facilitates or assists with special projects and other initiatives to ensure accuracy of data.
  • May participate in training and educational activities for internal customers and team.
  • Excellent Communication skills (oral and written) and listening to directions
  • Ability to work in a team environment consisting of customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and balance competing demands
  • Knowledge and understanding of interrelated system and database design to the extent that various actions of data manipulation and import can be anticipated and errors avoided or quickly corrected with minimal to no disruption of service to users.
  • Proficient in understanding of programming languages, operating systems, and machine hardware to the extent necessary to complete assignments.
