Where you fit in
The Sr EMS Educator will plan, develop, implement and evaluate educational programs for CHRH EMS personnel.  They will provide educational support for community outreach programs as appropriate.  Additionally, this person will support the orientation for new EMS employees and will work closely with EMS Supervisor and Emergency Department Leadership in managing day-to-day departmental functions. 

Your exceptional skills

  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills as you will ensure certifications are obtained and maintained

  • Identify education and skills training needed for EMTs, paramedics, and other staff as appropriate

  • Provide in-service training for all personnel as needed

  • Develops basic EMT education program to prepare students for Indiana EMT exam

  • Assists with orientation of EMTs, Paramedics and EMS students

  • Provides coverage on ambulance as required by EMS Coordinator

  • Adept in NetLearning, PowerPoint and other software for developing educational and presentation material

  • Fosters own professional development through involvement with internal committees and external professional associations

  • Reviews EMS run reports for QA and compliance, gathers ALS and BLS charts for presentation at monthly dept audit and review

  • Coordinates and assists with organization and training of hospital decontamination team

  • Other tasks as assigned


Your exceptional qualifications

  • High School Diploma; post-secondary education preferred

  • 1-3 years EMS experience and EMS Education related experience

  • Required Certifications/Licensures: Certified Paramedic, Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

  • Primary Instructor Certification to be obtained within 12 months of hire

  • Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) or EPC preferred
