This position is located in the north region of Indianapolis.

Role Overview
Demonstrates performance consistent with professional standards of practice and care, the Nurse Practice Act, and the mission and goals of the organization. Manages patient care in the health care continuum to achieve optimum outcomes in a cost-effective manner. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and have excellent teaching capabilities. Demonstrate mastery of Registered Nurse role with skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation, and management of resources. Exhibits motivation, commitment and a sense of pride in professional nursing practice.


Oncology experience required. OCN certification preferred, but not required upon hiring. Certification required within timeframe established upon hire.

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program, or three years related professional nursing experience.

Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license required.

• Demonstrates competency of the registered nurse
• Demonstrates effective communication skills, and the ability to instruct, direct and supervise others in the provision of patient care activities
• Coordinates care and transfer/discharge planning with multidisciplinary team members utilizing appropriate resources
• Demonstrates compliance with legal aspects of patient care activities, guidelines, policies and procedures that impact practice
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care specialized to population/site
• Validated competency in physical assessment skills
• Functions as effective team member as evidenced by interpersonal skills and compliance with group norms and expectations
• Accepts responsibility and exercises legitimate authority and accountability for practice care management
• Identifies areas for growth and professional goals and independently establishes a plan for achievement
• Exhibits ethical standards of conduct consistent with Community Hospitals Indianapolis Code of Ethics (Professional Practice Manual, 1994)
• Successful completion of the basic proficiency in medication administration examination.
• Successful completion of the orientation process and its associated competency assessments.
• Successful completion of unit/department specific competency assessments.
