Job Location

The President of Oncology Services, SVP position is located in Indianapolis, IN.

Job Duties

Partnered with physician leadership dyad, the President will bring executive-level thinking and a strategic mindset to the position to build a cohesive vision for cancer services and to lead the execution of a well-developed plan supporting the system-level goals and objectives. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have a demonstrated ability to grow programs while building and maintaining strong relationships with a wide variety of clinical partners. Along with key physician leaders, this person will be the voice and face of Community Health Network for oncology services and must be able to manage complex relationships and multiple stakeholders. The President will lead the relationship with MD Anderson to help position Community as a premier provider of cancer services across Indiana and the region. A relational and servant leader mindset is critical to success.

This position reports to the EVP, Chief Operating Officer, and serves a team of leaders in our five (5) cancer centers and physician practices.

Experience

Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience with at least three (3) years oncology experience. Multi-site, matrix experience is critical. Experience with both inpatient and outpatient oncology services.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Working knowledge of healthcare strategy, operations, managed care, and physician relations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a clear and actionable vision and advance strategy in a collaborative culture, working through influence and building/sustaining strong relationships across the organization.
  • Demonstrated excellent communications skills including listening, speaking and writing. Demonstrated skills in influencing through relationships. A demeanor and style that allows him/her to quickly establish credibility in an organization.
  • Able to function as a mentor/coach with a collaborative style. Skills to develop, nurture and encourage staff to embrace change and improve the organization. Able to hold people accountable to achieve objectives and to have crucial conversations when appropriate with key stakeholders.
  • Ability to effectively and credibly interact with, and influence, external and internal constituencies with sensitivities for relationship and political dynamics. Must be comfortable working within a collaborative, highly matrixed environment.
  • Able to develop a Best in Class product line strategy, with exceptional customer experience, outstanding outcomes, care and services that are appropriate, and recognized value and reasonable cost as its hallmark.
  • Demonstrated drive, innovation, and agility to meet patients’, physicians’, and employees’ needs.
  • The ideal candidate will have both an entrepreneurial spirit and track record of developing and growing oncology service lines. He/she will also possess a strong operational foundation and an orientation to detail.
