Job Location

The Patient Insurance Representative position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana


Job Duties

• The Patient Insurance Representative is responsible for ensuring timely verification of insurance coverage, notification of admission, and authorization provided to hospital for services provided
• The representative will promote financial viability and mitigate risk of financial liability for the network by collecting and verifying insurance demographics, securing prior authorizations, and/or pre notifications, and by working collaboratively with payers and members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that required information is provided to the payers
• The representative will handle all interactions with the highest level of professionalism and personal attention while achieving maximum customer/patient satisfaction 


Experience

• Three to five years of previous experience preferred
• Two years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred 


Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Associate’s Degree preferred


Skills

• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Strong relationship skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional one-on-one interactions and phone skills
• Ability to multi-task, have attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and be a team player
• Excellent critical thinking skills 
• Proficient in data entry with multiple software application usage
• Resourceful, creative thinker, ensuring timely resolution of patient/team/customer needs
• Flexibility and adaptability
• Ability to hear phone communications and respond verbally
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently
