Location
The Life Skills Clinician position is community based and will focus most efforts on the east side of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Duties
Monitors and provides skills training and development services to adults with serious mental illness and/or chronic addiction on how to perform the steps to reach their goals.

Experience
One (1) year experience in a human services related field involving skills training and case management preferred.

Education
Bachelor’s degree required (in mental health related field) or 8 years equivalent work experience.

License
Current Indiana Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required; driving record that adheres to CHI policy

  • Must have interpersonal skills including motivation, flexibility, persistence, and patience
  • Must have effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must have the ability to relate in a non-judgmental and culturally competent manner
  • Must have the knowledge of behavioral health competencies specific to population being served
  • Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with CHI policy
  • Must be able to make home/community based site visits
  • Must possess knowledge and creativity in regard to community resources
Additional Information
The main function of this role is to work with patients suffering from SMI, Severe Mental Illness. The hours for this role will vary however, most days will be Monday and every other weekend from 10:00am – 6:00pm, 16 hours/week.
