Job Location
The Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Job Duties
  • The Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist in the Cardiac Catheter Lab assists with the transportation of patients and the preparation and recovery of cath lab patients.
  • Completes specific data on admission data base and interprets basic rhythm strips.
Two (2) years of experience in patient care or equivalent education. This can be obtained through an accredited training program.


  • LPN or
  • Certified Paramedic or
  • RCIS Certification or
  • AS graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health


  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of employment into this role required.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred
  • Limited Cardiac Catheterization Radiology Certificate preferred
  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to multi-task
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must believe in a team concept
  • Ability to assist with the insertion of an Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump catheter
  • Ability to provide advanced patient care support
  • Ability to contribute to the assessment of the health status of patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab area as evidenced by timely and accurate reporting and documentation of patient data
  • Ability to start an IV saline lock
  • Ability to remove a sheath from the artery
  • Ability to assist physician performing a scheduled and/or emergent diagnostic left heart catheter with coronary arteriography
  • Ability to assist physician performing a scheduled intervention

Additional Information
  • Ability to stand or walk while wearing protective equipment (lead aprons) for extended periods
  • Ability to visually observe patients and monitors, to use phones/pagers, and to communicate with patients and staff while performing duties requiring sterile technique
  • Ability to stand, stretch, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, lift and work in cramped quarters
