The Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) - Registered Nurse (RN) - Center of Hope position is located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- The Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) demonstrates performance consistent with professional forensic nursing standards of practice, care, and performance, the Nurse Practice Act and the mission and goals of the organization.
- Provides forensic examinations and nursing services for victims of violence.
- Is responsible for collecting and preserving forensic specimens while maintaining the chain of custody.
- Works collaboratively to meet the acute needs of primary and secondary forensic patients by making appropriate patient referrals through identification and coordination of services throughout the Community Health Network and with a variety of external partners.
Minimum 1 year recent acute care clinical experience as a registered nurse required. Forensic Nurse Examiner experience preferred.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing or three years related professional nursing experience. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Successful completion of a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner course (approved by International Association of Forensic Nurses) and certification within 2 years from date of hire.
Current Indiana licensure as a Registered Nurse
